After having spent her junior year abroad in Rome, Italy, Erika received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from Loyola University of Chicago.
Erika received her Juris Doctorate in 1993 from DePaul College of Law where she received the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Writing II and where she also served as the Editor-in-Chief of DePaul College of Law's Newspaper, “The Cause of Action.”
During the first six months of her legal career, Erika tried and won 12 civil jury trials in the Circuit Court of Cook County. In 1994 Erika joined the public sector as a Staff Attorney for the Chief Judge of Cook County. In this capacity, she served as a judicial advisor to seven Cook County Circuit Court Judges presiding in the Criminal Felony Division.
In 1995 Erika was sworn in as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County. As a prosecutor, her success rate at placing violent, repeat offenders behind the walls of the Illinois Department of Corrections was praised by both her supervisors as well as by the judges before whom she argued cases.
In 2000, Erika re-joined the private sector as a litigation attorney where she continued to sharpen and hone her civil litigation skills. In January, 2001, Erika joined Judge, James & Kujawa, LLC where she has successfully tried and won two civil jury trials.
Erika is a publishing member of the Illinois Defense Counsel, is a member of the Illinois Bar Association as well as a member of the Asian American Bar Association. Erika also remains a member of her legal fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta.
Erika's aggressive trial strategy, coupled with her legal ability and knowledge of the law, make her a valuable asset to our legal practice.
