The firm represents insurers and self-insureds with heavy emphasis on trial, appellate and coverage practice. Though the firm of Judge, James & Kujawa, LLC was formed in 1991, its members have experience in the same areas of practice 30 plus years.

The defense philosophy of Judge, James & Kujawa, LLC is to professionally, conscientiously and aggressively pursue cases with the goal of expeditiously and economically disposing of litigation either through favorable settlements or trial and appeal. We believe cases are most favorably disposed of when our opponent knows we relish disposition through vigorous motion practice, trials and appeals.

Our practice has heavy emphasis in the areas of: municipality and public entity cases, catastrophic injury cases, products liability cases and insurance coverage cases. It also includes all lines, personal and commercial, of insurance defense work including: automobile, homeowners/premises, construction, defense cases, Structural Work Act, and all other similar insurance.

Our office is in Park Ridge, Illinois allowing easy and quick access to the courts in all surrounding counties: Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage, Will, Kankakee, LaSalle, Winnebago and Boone. We also travel throughout the State of Illinois handling death and serious injury cases.

Jay Judge's monthly column entitled “Ready for the Defense” appearing in the Township Perspective magazine of the Township Officials of Illinois, provides a means for keeping current on problems facing public entities and serves to offer advice on how public entities may avoid claims and litigation.

In addition, Jay’s bi-weekly column entitled “Federal Courts,” appearing in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, addresses aspects of federal practice and procedure and the federal courts’ applications of Illinois substantive law.
